There was famine, and it was with the nuts of this tree that our parents fed themselves.  <\/p>\n<p>The nuts were delicious, but they were also used as a traditional medicine against stomach aches.  <\/p>\n<p>The tree is beginning to disappear from the forests because people are secretly cutting it down to make roofing for houses and chairs with stems etc. <\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.donkosira.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Ronier-1.jpeg?resize=300%2C225&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-29206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.donkosira.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Ronier-1.jpeg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.donkosira.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Ronier-1.jpeg?resize=768%2C576&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.donkosira.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Ronier-1.jpeg?w=1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But thanks to the resilience of the people of Bouillagui, a solution has been found to revalorise this very rich heritage which could be of great use to the inhabitants of the village.   <\/p>\n<p>Two years ago, at the approach of the rainy season, all the villagers went out for a week to dig holes in various hectares of the forest before the rains came to sow nuts again.  <\/p>\n<p>Young roast trees started to grow and now the Bouillagui forest is rich in roast trees thanks to the resilience of the population.
